Alexis Armstrong (she/her), originally from Akron, OH (home of Lebron James, The Black Keys, and Devo), came to Gloucester in June of 2023 after graduating from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA with a degree in political science and theatre. She first started dabbling in development as a fundraising volunteer for political campaigns in Ohio, most recently Tim Ryan for Ohio Senate, on both the local and state level. Her volunteer work brought her to the Summit County Executive’s Office in Akron where she worked as a member of the Communications and Administration department before spending a year abroad in St Andrews, Scotland at the University of St Andrews. She continued her fundraising and development efforts by spending the year working for a student-run non-profit organization in St Andrews. She came to GEF after completing an apprenticeship at Gloucester Stage Company where she served as the Marketing and Development Apprentice for their 2023 season. Alexis is thrilled to be working with the great team at GEF!
Favorite GEF-funded program:
“Having been introduced to theatre by my own elementary school’s arts programs growing up, I have seen firsthand the benefits of access to arts education and opportunities. I look forward to playing a role in growing those opportunities for Gloucester students, just as my education did for me. “
