Oh, The Places They Go!

Interviews with Gloucester Public Schools alumni

In summer 2023 GEF launched a project to document experiences and insights from GPS alumni, in an effort to capture stories among its graduates about their life and careers after high school.

These interviews dig into the courses, programs, and enrichment opportunities - many funded by GEF - that shaped each alumnus’ K-12 experience and set them on a path towards their post-secondary pursuits, be it college, work, or an alternative training program, like the GMGI Biotech Academy. They are meant to inform and inspire current GPS students, and give teachers, families, and the broader community an update on what GPS grads are up to.

GHS Class of 2024’s Aurelia Harrison interned at GEF as a senior and spearheaded this project. "I'm a big fan of the work GEF does, so I reached out to them this summer in hopes of working on something meaningful and honing my writing skills further,” says Harrison. “These first interviews, with recent GHS grads, are meant to highlight the bright futures of GHS students immediately after high school. As a senior, it's comforting to see how successful our graduates are, and I hope these interviews can provide some of that same feeling to others."

The first seven interviews are below; stay tuned for more in the coming months!

If you’d like to be interviewed or nominate a GPS alum to be interviewed, please send GEF a message at emailus@thinkthebest.org with “Alumni Interview” as the subject.
