
Sarah Grow was a journalist for 15 years before venturing into the nonprofit world where her passion for storytelling and social justice found a place serving underserved communities. Since 2010 she has worked at The Open Door, the leading hunger-relief organization on the North Shore, and currently serves as Director of Advocacy and Development. Sarah sits on the Advisory Board of the North Shore DTA, Massachusetts state-wide SNAP (Food Stamp) Coalition and various task forces including but not limited to the SNAP Gap Coalition and Hunger-Free Campus Task Force, and North Shore Hunger Network. As an active member of the local community, along with sitting on the Gloucester Education Foundation's board, she also sits on the Associated Charities, the City of Gloucester’s Linzee Coolidge Philanthropy Award Committee, Gilbert Fund for the Aged, and site base councils of O'Maley Innovation Middle School and Gloucester High School. All her three children proudly graduated from the Gloucester Public School System, and went on to college to study economics & public health, engineering, and international cybersecurity.
