Ted Costa is a lifelong resident of Gloucester where he lives with his wife Janice and his daughter Sophia, who currently attends Gloucester High School. His other daughter Jenna, a recent graduate of UMass Amherst, currently works at Beth Israel Hospital while attending George Washington University. Ted is a retired Deputy Fire Chief and currently serves as the Deputy Director of Community Outreach for Massachusetts State Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr. Ted is also a former three term Gloucester City Councilor and has served on many boards and committees, most recently the City of Gloucester Capital Improvements Advisory Board and the Magnolia Pier Advisory Committee. Ted was inspired to join GEF to help contribute to efforts in improving the lives of students and inspiring a love of learning. “Seeing first-hand the students’ pride and accomplishment from the work they have done in our schools and realizing that their feelings of achievement and success could not have been possible without GEF and a supportive community touches your heart and makes you want to be a part of it.”
