Happy LAST DAY OF SCHOOL to Gloucester kids, families, teachers and staff! It was a long year, and everyone is ready for a glorious summer - and this weekend, Fiesta!
Please take a moment to look back at SY24-25 by thumbing through GEF's Impact Report today. Despite the many challenges of this school year, this community has much to be proud of when it comes to supporting, challenging, and lifting up our students. GEF is thankful to play a role in that important work, and appreciative of every educator, family, donor, volunteer, elected official, and administrator that work together to make learning come alive for our kids.

Happy first day of summer! GPS students still have a few more days of school, but it's lovely to see so many of them outside today enjoying field days, extra recess, special events, and soaking in the sunshine. We all need it. ☀☀☀
Remember to Honor-a-Teacher before the last day of school on 6/26: a simple but impactful way to recognize the GPS staff that have educated, nurtured, and championed your kids all year long! 🏆

Beautiful job by Plum Cove 4th and 5th graders in their final night of “Finding Nemo”!
Congratulations to all of the students, staff, families, alumni, and partners that put on seven big productions in grades 4-12 this school year. GEF is honored to support theater in all of our schools!

Final meeting of the year for the GEF Student Advisory Committee: a celebratory dinner at The Azorean!
Lauren, Liv, Hannah and Aidan are off to college at the end off the summer; Clay, Mylee and Jeferson will welcome new sophomore and junior advisors in the fall as they start their senior years.
These kids ask tough questions, have brilliant ideas, and share perceptive insights. We’re so fortunate to have them on our team.
@vermontstate_castleton, @uofsc, @webbinstitute, and @wheatoncollegeil: you’re so lucky to get these Gloucester grads!!

We always love seeing what O’Maley 8th graders create in their printmaking unit with local artist @maryrhinelander! This annual project, where students get to print their own designs on the historic Folly Cove Acorn Press, has been funded by GEF for a number of years.🦓🦨🐼🎬🥋🖤🏴☠️♣️🕶️🐈⬛🐑🐇🦴🐁🤍

GEF's 2025 Impact Report "In Their Hands: The Power of Experiential Learning" is here! It highlights 30 hands-on programs led by talented Gloucester educators who go above and beyond to help students learn by doing. Shout out to GHS Class of 2019's @rebeccamdowd for her help writing this report - boy, do we love when alumni stay engaged like that 💛.
With nearly $475,000 invested this school year, we see that the Gloucester community is steadfast in their support for our schools. We hope you’ll help keep that momentum going with a gift to our spring appeal, or an Honor-a-Teacher gift if you're a GPS parent looking for a creative way to thank a Gloucester teacher! Happy Teacher Appreciation week to Gloucester educators - we love helping you make learning more vibrant, relevant, and engaging for your students, and appreciate all that you do - today and every day!

Gloucester families: these Arts Fest flyers should be in your kids’ backpacks this week! Make sure you take a look, and also fish around in there for a permission slip if your child is performing (music and/or theater). Those need to be returned to their music and theater teachers!
All the festival details, including the performance schedule in three languages, are on the GEF website: www.thinkthebest.org. Can’t wait!
