We hope students and staff are having a great first day of school, and the year ahead is one filled with joyful teaching and learning!

π£INTERNSHIP ALERT!! π£
O'Maley Academy is hiring paid GHS interns for the 2025-26 school year. A great opportunity to learn by doing, support O'Maley students, and dip your toes into the working world. And remember: internships look great on college and job applications!

Our countdown to Countdown to Kindergarten is ON: only two days to go! We hope to see every incoming kindergartener at the GHS Field House for this warm welcome to the Gloucester Public Schools.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Meetinghouse Green concert with The Goddesses on Friday! Your generosity brought in over $1,500 in donations for GEF programs. Extra ππ½ ♥οΈ ππ½ to our merry crew of volunteers, big and small!!
PS: we are (hilariously and unsuccessfully) trying to show “20” with our hands to signify GEF’s 20th anniversary year. We better figure out how to do this by our big Gala on November 6th!! βπΌππΌ

Coming to the Meetinghouse Green concert tonight? Please bring some school supplies! We'll have a collection box for a supply drive we're doing with @theopendoorma, Educational Foundation for Rockport, and @pathwaysforchildren!

Sun's out, Fun's out(side)!
The weather app said 95% chance of rain all week for today, but FEH! Mother Nature is smiling on us, so it looks like it'll be an A+ summer evening on the Meetinghouse Green with The Goddesses, GEF, and @meatandsweetfoods. See you tonight at 6pm!

This morning, 4th and 5th graders in the Gordon Summer STEAM Camp were interviewed for a documentary about engineer Bernard Gordon, who makes this program possible at no cost to GPS families each summer through his generosity to GEF! The kids were asked: “What does it mean to be an engineer?” and they had some terrific insights...can’t wait to see the documentary when it is done!
Thanks to the students who participated for taking a break from coding LEGO creations to be filmed, to program directors Erin Schondelmeier and Annemarie Wentzel for sharing their story of dreaming up and leading this awesome program, to filmmaker Rocco Capano, and to the Bernard M. Gordon Foundation for all of its support for future engineers!

It's only mid-July, so we DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY ARE NOT counting down the days until school yet...but...save the date for Countdown to Kindergarten! Class of 2038, we're getting ready for you! πππΌππΏππΎππ½

Come on down to the Main Street Block Party and look for the GEF table across from Brass Monkey! You can learn about our work, get some GEF swag, and make a keychain with our amazing volunteers.

Happy LAST DAY OF SCHOOL to Gloucester kids, families, teachers and staff! It was a long year, and everyone is ready for a glorious summer - and this weekend, Fiesta!
Please take a moment to look back at SY24-25 by thumbing through GEF's Impact Report today. Despite the many challenges of this school year, this community has much to be proud of when it comes to supporting, challenging, and lifting up our students. GEF is thankful to play a role in that important work, and appreciative of every educator, family, donor, volunteer, elected official, and administrator that work together to make learning come alive for our kids.
